Under section 10 of the Employment Relations Act 1999 an employee and/or worker has the right to be represented by a colleague or a trade union representative at a disciplinary and grievance hearing, including an appeal hearing. They do not have the right to bring a friend or a family member who is not an employee.
HR-Onsite holds a range of HR meetings on behalf of businesses – grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, long-term sickness hearings as well as redundancy, TUPE, and settlement agreement meetings. We are independent and will consider both sides of the argument before providing the company with a detailed report to include a recommended outcome to the matter, which is based upon the information provided to us. We would not be doing our job properly if we did not act independently.
From conducting the meeting to providing you with our report, the process should be concluded within 3 working days unless additional information is required which delays the process. In this event we will keep you notified of any potential delay in issuing you with our report and recommendation.
Our costs are based on an 8-hour day that includes our time attending the meeting and with drafting our report. We don’t charge for travel to attend your premises. We anticipate the matter will be concluded within an 8-hour period but we will let you know if it is likely to take longer, for which an additional charge will be made. We charge £895.00 for an 8-hour period.
